What is Meditation?
Meditation is the systematic and scientific practice of mind management techniques to awaken the infinite powers within us all and thus enhance the overall quality of the mind. Meditation empowers us to be masters and not slaves to our minds. The meditation techniques, based on a deeper understanding and experience of our inner Self, have been developed and refined by Vedic teachers over 5000+ years of practice. Regular practice is a great help to manage our everyday lives.
Befriending the mind
Our mind is potentially our best friend or worst enemy. Throughout our lives, our knowledge and ignorance, happiness and misery, successes and failures etc depend so much on our minds. Yet we know so little about the mind itself, the most important instrument which we use continuously. Our education, both informal and formal, is focused mostly on information and knowledge of the external world. All our thoughts, emotions, desires, values, previous experiences etc. influence of behaviour, decisions, trajectory of life etc. Little, if any, attention is given to the inner space of the mind, intellect, ego and consciousness. Our education system, which is supposed to prepare us for the challenges and opportunities in our journey of life, must incorporate the training of the mind itself, if we wish to empower our youth fit for the challenges of life.
Is meditation a religious practice?
No, the meditation techniques are not taught in a religious way. However, the practitioner is free to incorporate their faith into the practice, if they choose to. We teach meditation practices in a very universal way as mind management techniques.
